Hi all, new member to the community just bought the R7000 router recently but unfortunately having some troubles with it. My mobile Samsung s7 edge is having trouble accessing to internet wirelessly from the R7000. It connects to the wi-fi without any issue but no internet access showing up as 'internet may not be available' on the wi-fi menu of my S7 edge. After a few days of researching the problem and trying different things to fix it, I am all out of ideas.
Details specific to my situation 1. Router Firmware is V1.0.9.181.2.27 2. Phone Android Version 7 (Nougat), Baseband G935FXXU1DQJ1 3. My missus has a Samsung S8 that connects the router without a problem 4. Both mine and my missus' laptop connects with no problem. My S7 edge connects to Wi-Fi at work and public Wi-Fi without any issues. Hi Case850, Thank you for taking the time to help out.
I have read both articles that you've attached and I don't think they apply as the s7 edge is able to connect to other routers and public wifi, including wifi hotspots and mobile tethering via my missus' phone. No doubt that's the only way I'm getting internet right now. The s7 edge is also capable of connecting to 2.4ghz @ 256 bit QAM. It is also able to connect to my other non-netgear router. It also connects to the wifi of the R7000, just no internet access. I've tried connecting to the 5ghz band as well and it does, but does not hold it for long before it knocks back down to a 2.4ghz connection. Any other ideas?

Reserving the IP address did not fix it for me. However I have tried to flash a previous old firmware and that seems to fix the issue. The firmware I used is 1.0.9.14 so clearly it is an incompatibility issue with certain settings in the latest firmware that causes the issue with S7 edge phones from working together with the router. The netgear team needs to take a good look at this issue and hopefully include a hot fix for this in future firmwares. Terribly disappointed in the support that Netgear has provided in this instance. They just kept blaming the '3rd party device' which is my S7 edge. 200 bucks down the drain with this one.
